AQUADAPT Knowledge Management Platform

For the IDRC-funded Nature-based Climate Solutions in Aquaculture Food Systems in Asia-Pacific (AQUADAPT) programme, Rua Design with Dgroups Foundation, and Big Blue delivered the design, branding, and development of an online platform to support collaboration among project partners and participants. The work included establishing a coherent visual identity and a clear, user-friendly site structure for presenting programme objectives, events, and shared resources. A core element of the platform is its integration of community functionalities, linking programme communications, discussions, and collaboration spaces in a single environment. The platform also supports member profiles capturing roles and affiliations, and integrates bibliographic data hosted in Zotero to enable structured access to publications and references without duplicating repository systems.

IFPRI Website Rebuild

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), a research center of CGIAR, provides research-based policy solutions to sustainably reduce poverty and end hunger and malnutrition in low and middle-income countries.

Rua Design led a consortium including Big Blue, Euforic Services, and Susanna Pecora Design to implement the redevelopment of the IFPRI's website in line with the web and communications team's vision and design.

The assignment involved project management, website migration between platforms, content curation, custom website plugins, in order to provide a fresh new perspective on the organization's projects, experts, research and policy recommendations

CLARE collaboration space / website

For the UK FCDO-IDRC-funded CLARE programme, Rua Design, in collaborative effort with the Dgroups Foundation, and Big Blue Communications was contracted to deliver the end-to-end design, branding, and development of the programme's online platform ( clareprogramme.org). The team established a clear visual identity and implemented it within a bilingual website that communicates CLARE's research, activities, and emerging impacts.

In addition to the public-facing site, the platform includes an internal collaboration space supporting programme delivery and knowledge exchange. This includes a searchable directory of users with profiles capturing roles, affiliations, and other relevant information, enabling participants to identify expertise, connect across projects, and navigate the programme network more effectively. The WordPress-hosted space is closely coupled with an external platform Groups.io, that emphasizes asynchronous collaboration through hybrid e-mail/web group discussion.

Varietal Release and Adoption Data for South, Southeast, and East Asia

The SIAC core database and charts collected through funding from the Standing Panel on Impact Assessment (SPIA) of the CGIAR Independent Science and Partnership Council (ISPC) to Michigan State University. The database includes varietal release and adoption estimates for eleven CGIAR mandated crops across 15 countries: 134 crop-country-combinations (CCCs) in the South, Southeast, and East Asia region. This website displays the data visually.

Agricultural Science and Technology Indicators (ASTI) 2019 - 2020

The ASTI Network bridges the data-to-impact gap by providing data, analyses, and outreach to inform policy and investment decisions in agricultural research. In 2019 -and 2020 the website design was updated and the website Content Management System was upgraded. Rua Design also maintains ASTI's Data Management Portal and database.

Compact 2025 Resources Hub

Compact2025 is an initiative for ending hunger and undernutrition by 2025. A key component of the initiative is creating a Knowledge and Innovation (K&I) Hub to provide policymakers and practitioners with pragmatic, evidence-based guidance on scaling up success stories to end hunger and undernutrition. Rua Design worked with the Compact2025 to create the resources hub, creating a page of resources with highlighted items, browse and search. Technically, the HUB works with an API to display the records from a document repository on the page and uses Javascript for categorizing, sorting, search and filtering. The page makes use of a custom Wordpress Plugin developed by Rua Design.

NDC Partnership Knowledge Management System

NDC Partnership is an international organization assisting countries with the tools they need to implement their Nationally Determined Contributions (or NDCs) in order to combat climate change. Rua Design, Euforic Services, Susanna Pecora (susannapecora.co.uk), and N. Beintema, formed a team to improve the usability and functionality of NDC Partnership's Knowledge Management System. Components included overall organization of the information, data export, data searching, and data visualisation including a data dashboard.
